The Hurricane 23 is a 23-meter patrol and intercept vessel designed by KND for coast guard operations. Constructed with an aluminium planing hull and aluminium superstructure, the craft features a 4.42-meter beam and a 1.02-meter draft, with a maximum full-load displacement of 38.33 tons under Bureau Veritas classification. The vessel offers two primary propulsion configurations: a jet drive system delivering 3,000 hp or a shaft and propeller arrangement providing 2,000 hp.

Performance varies by configuration, with the jet drive setup achieving a maximum speed of 42.3 knots and a cruising speed of 34.1 knots, resulting in an operational range of 1,022 nautical miles. The shaft and propeller version reaches a cruising speed of 28 knots with a significantly extended range of 1,502 nautical miles. To support these operations, the Hurricane 23 is equipped with a 14,300-liter fuel capacity, 1,750 liters of fresh water, and 490 liters of waste water storage.

The vessel is designed to accommodate a 14-person complement for an endurance basis of five days at sea. Onboard systems include a 14 kW/17.5 KVA genset, a 4,500 Ah house battery bank, and full air conditioning delivering approximately 34,780 BTU/h. Its professional navigation suite comprises a 16-inch multi-function display, VHF DSC, AIS-B++, a 4 kW radar, an autopilot, and a 1 kW sonar. Additional mission capabilities can be enhanced through optional extras such as ballistic protection and a RIB launch system.
