CONCEPT
& IDEATION

  • Preliminary 3D CAD Modelling
  • Concepts & ideation
  • Hull Design

Our design service is committed to providing high-quality solutions. We strive to create concepts and specifications that are tailored to the needs of the user, client, and manufacturer, taking into account the unique requirements of each.

DESIGN

  • 3D CAD Modelling
  • Design & Space Planning
  • Renders & 3D Visualisation

By using 3D modeling KND can provide a detailed representation of the boat, allowing it to accurately calculate its performance and make any necessary adjustments before construction. It offers a more detailed view of the boat’s form and proportions, allowing KND to ensure the final product meets the client’s vision.

CONSTRUCTION

  • Construction Drawing
  • BOM & Materials
  • CNC & Cut Files
  • Tooling (Moulds)
  • Jigs

At KND we illustrate the design and its components, with detailed drawings of the hull, structure, and systems to support the manufacturing of the vessel.

NAVAL ARCHITECTURE

  • Scantling
  • Stability Assessment/Books
  • Speed predictions
  • Propeller matching

KND will analyze the hull, systems, and performance of the vessel, ensuring the design complies with the respective regulations and overall design aligns with the client’s needs. This will tie into the analysis mentioned below

CERTIFICATION

  • CE Certification
  • Sea Trials

KND is an assessment house for CE certification of recreational crafts. CE certification is a process by which boats are tested and certified to ensure they meet the safety, environmental, and technical standards set by the European Union. The certification process is mandatory for all boats sold or operated within the European Economic Area (EEA).

The CE certification of boats involves several steps. First, the boat manufacturer must perform a self-assessment to determine which requirements apply to their specific boat. These requirements may include safety features, technical specifications, and environmental standards. Next, the boat must undergo a series of tests and inspections to verify that it meets the applicable requirements. These tests may be performed by a third-party testing organization (such as KND).

Once the boat has passed all the necessary tests and inspections, the manufacturer can affix a CE mark to the boat. This mark indicates that the boat complies with all applicable EU requirements and that it is safe for use in the EEA.

It is important to note that CE certification is only required for boats sold or operated within the EEA. Boats intended for use outside of the EEA may need to meet different certification requirements, depending on the destination country.

Sea trials are conducted on boats for several reasons. One of the primary reasons is to test the boat’s performance and seaworthiness in real-world conditions. Sea trials provide an opportunity to test the boat’s speed, maneuverability, stability, and other factors that are difficult to test in a controlled environment. The data gathered is used the validate the design predictions/estimations and to determine whether the boat is performing to its optimal capabilities.

ANALYSIS

  • Hydrostatic analysis
  • CFD Analysis

Computational Fluid Dynamics and Hydrostatics are a specialized field of engineering that examines the behavior of liquids and gases in motion, and the effects of vessels and structures on these fluids. This analysis is invaluable to evaluate the performance of vessels at various load conditions and optimize the design for project success.
