P602 | SHADOWHAWK 12.5

The Shadowhawk 12.5 Troop Carrier Vessel by KND is a high-speed tactical transport platform engineered with an aluminium planing hull and a matching aluminium wheelhouse superstructure. Specifically optimized for rapid beaching, amphibious troop insertion, and coastal interception, this monohull measures 12.5 meters in length overall with a 3.5-meter beam and a shallow 0.49-meter draft. Operating under Grey Boat Code and Bureau Veritas (BV) classification standards with HPi CE proof validation, the craft manages a maximum full-load displacement of 7.48 tons.

The vessel’s profile is uniquely tailored for stealthy, high-capacity troop deployment. It features an armored, enclosed forward cabin layout that transitions to an integrated, drop-down bow ramp system for immediate dry-foot troop disembarkation directly onto shorelines. The vessel is rated to carry a 12-person complement on a 1-day operational endurance baseline. Onboard liquid logistics supporting the crew and transported forces include a 1,200-liter fuel capacity, 300 liters of fresh water, and 84 liters of waste water storage. To establish defensive superiority during landing operations, the deck plans outline multiple heavy weapon stations, including a centerline forward gun mount abaft the bow ramp and twin aft-quarter machine gun positions.

To ensure rapid shoreline acceleration, instant reverse thrust, and optimal shallow-water beaching agility, the platform relies exclusively on an outboard engine propulsion arrangement drawing from its 1,200-liter fuel supply. The documentation highlights two recommended high-performance powertrain options:

  • Option A (Twin 350 hp): Utilizing dual outboard motors to deliver a combined 700 hp of recommended power . This configuration propels the craft to a blistering maximum speed of 45.1 knots and a swift cruising speed of 33.5 knots. At cruise velocity, it maintains a fuel burn rate of 115.5 liters per hour, yielding an operational range of 313 nautical miles at a full 7.48-ton displacement.

  • Option B (Twin 300 hp): Serving as an alternative recommended outboard configuration delivering a combined 600 hp of installed power. This setup achieves a maximum speed of 42.0 knots and a steady cruising speed of 31.2 knots. Running at its cruise setting, fuel consumption drops to 99.0 liters per hour, extending the vessel’s cruising range to 340 nautical miles at an estimated displacement of 7.38 tons.

The ship’s extensive technical workspace, weapon systems, and service networks run on a dual 230 VAC and 24 VDC electrical power supply. This grid is heavily backed by an exceptionally large, recommended 11,370 Ah house battery bank and a heavy-duty 17.7 kW / 22.2 KVA generator set. This robust power framework runs a high-output climate control grid delivering an approximate 44,500 BTU/h air conditioning system to keep the enclosed troop spaces and wheelhouse completely climate-controlled during intense coastal operations.

The helm station features an advanced navigation pack centered on a large 16-inch multi-function display (MFD). This infrastructure is entirely integrated via a unifying NMEA2000 backbone with a VHF DSC radio, AIS-B++ transponder, a 4 kW radar system, an autopilot, and a 1 kW sonar. Standard legally mandated safety and navigation gear completes the console build, including a masthead light, stern light, sidelights, a magnetic compass, a sound signaling device, a VHF radio, emergency flares, and navigation charts. KND offers advanced mission-specific customization under its optional extras, including specialized medical equipment and containerized cargo layout modules. As is standard across this KND tactical range, these preliminary parameters represent concept-level estimates that remain subject to final design development and detailed engineering modifications.
