The Navigator 12 AR Rescue & Patrol vessel by KND is a highly specialized, all-weather platform engineered for demanding search, rescue, and coastal security operations. Moving away from the open-console configurations seen in other tactical variants, this model integrates a fully enclosed cabin layout designed to safeguard the crew and recovered individuals from harsh marine elements while sustaining high-speed performance.
The vessel is constructed with a rugged aluminium planing hull paired with a matching aluminium wheelhouse superstructure to ensure maximum durability during rigorous professional service. It features a length overall (LOA) of 12 meters, a functional beam overall (BOA) of 3.7 meters, and a shallow draft of 0.43 meters that is ideal for navigating restrictive coastal or riverine zones. Operating with a maximum full-load displacement of 6.66 tons, the craft is certified under the Grey Boat Code and Bureau Veritas (BV) standards with HPi CE proof validation. The platform is optimized for single-day missions and securely accommodates a complement of 6 pax within its climate-controlled interior.
To maximize maneuverability and survivor safety during recovery operations, the Navigator 12 AR utilizes a specialized twin Jet drive arrangement with a recommended installed power of 600 hp total (2 x 300 hp). This waterjet configuration allows the craft to achieve an impressive maximum speed of 42 knots and maintain a swift cruising speed of 33.9 knots. At cruise, the propulsion system reports an efficient fuel burn rate of 85.8 liters per hour. Drawing from a 1,000-liter fuel capacity, it delivers an operational range of 356 nautical miles. Onboard liquid capacities include 150 liters of fresh water and a 42-liter waste water system to support crew comfort during extended operations.
The vessel features a robust electrical backbone running on a 230 VAC and 24 VDC power supply, heavily supported by a 9.7 kW / 12.2 kVA generator and a substantial 6,240 Ah house battery bank. This extensive power reserve easily supports the onboard air conditioning system, which delivers approximately 23,500 BTU/h of climate control to the wheelhouse.
Mission navigation and situational awareness are managed via an advanced electronics pack centered around a 12-inch multi-function display (MFD). This suite integrates a VHF DSC radio, an AIS-B transponder, an 18/24-inch dome radar, an autopilot, and a 600 W sonar. Compulsory safety and compliance gear is fully integrated, including a masthead light, stern light, sidelights, a magnetic compass, a sound signal device, emergency flares, and dedicated navigation charts.
