P751 | SHUTTLE 27.5
The Shuttle 27.5 Transporter by KND is a large-capacity commercial passenger ferry featuring an aluminium planing hull and a matching aluminium wheelhouse superstructure. Engineered for efficient mass transit, the vessel measures 27.5 meters in length overall with a 6.2-meter beam and a 0.86-meter draft. Operating under the Grey Boat Code and Bureau Veritas (BV) classification standards with HPi CE proof validation, the platform handles a maximum full-load displacement of 51.79 tons. The main deck plan features a high-density, multi-row internal arrangement optimized to comfortably carry a 103-passenger complement on a single-day endurance baseline. To support operations, the hull is outfitted with substantial fluid storage capacities, including a 5,000-liter fuel tank, 2,575 liters of fresh water, and 721 liters of waste water storage.
To suit different maritime environments, the transporter offers two distinct recommended high-performance propulsion configurations. The standard arrangement utilizes a traditional shaft and propeller system driven by twin 1,000 hp engines for 2,000 hp of installed power, delivering a maximum speed of 29.5 knots and an efficient cruising speed of 22.8 knots. At this cruise velocity, it maintains a fuel burn rate of 240 liters per hour to secure a long operational range of 428 nautical miles. For operations requiring enhanced agility and higher top speeds, the secondary recommended configuration upgrades to a jet drive arrangement powered by twin 1,200 hp engines for 2,400 hp of installed power. This configuration achieves a 30.2-knot maximum speed and a 24.3-knot cruise velocity, with an increased fuel burn rate of 343.2 liters per hour that compresses the cruising range to 319 nautical miles.
The ship’s extensive electronic networks, safety systems, and passenger amenities run on a dual 230 VAC and 48 VDC electrical power supply. This grid is heavily backed by a recommended 19,540 Ah house battery bank and a powerful 61 kW / 76.2 KVA generator set, which runs a high-output 158,000 BTU/h air conditioning system to keep the entire passenger cabin perfectly climate-controlled. The raised command bridge features a premium electronics package centered on a 16-inch multi-function display (MFD) integrated via a unifying NMEA2000 backbone with a VHF DSC radio, AIS-B, a 4 kW radar, an autopilot, and a 1 kW sonar. Legally mandated safety and tactical navigation gear rounds out the helm, including a masthead light, stern light, sidelights, a magnetic compass, a sound signaling device, emergency flares, navigation charts, a GPS chartplotter, AIS, radar, and a depth sounder. As with all models in the KND commercial transit range, these preliminary parameters represent concept-level estimates that remain subject to final design development and detailed engineering.
