P715 | SNAPPER 51
The Snapper 51 Fishing Vessel by KND is a massive, commercial-grade offshore harvesting platform featuring a robust steel displacement hull and an aluminium wheelhouse superstructure. Technical specifications indicate a commanding length overall of 51.50 meters, a wide beam of 11.69 meters, and a deep draft of 3.51 meters, operating at a maximum full-load displacement of 1,249.86 tons under Bureau Veritas classification and HPi CE proof validation. Designed to support large-scale industrial fishing operations with a professional 30-passenger complement, the vessel boasts exceptional liquid logistics capacities, including a 20,000-liter fuel tank, an expansive 22,500-liter fresh water supply, and 6,300 liters of waste water storage.
For reliable, long-range blue-water transits, the vessel’s propulsion system relies on a traditional shaft and propeller arrangement driven by heavy-duty marine engines sourced from Volvo Penta, Baudouin, or MTU delivering a total of 2,000 bhp. This heavy displacement powertrain enables the ship to achieve a maximum speed of 17 knots and maintain a high-efficiency cruising speed of 16 knots. Leveraging its optimized hull form and fuel management systems, the Snapper 51 secures a continuous operational range of 1,165 nautical miles at its 16-knot cruise velocity. This remarkable endurance baseline provides the sustained power necessary for extended deep-sea commercial fishing expeditions and prolonged deployments without requiring immediate port support.
The ship’s extensive onboard electronics, deck machinery, and living facilities are powered by a dual 230 VAC and 48 VDC electrical network heavily backed by a high-capacity 150 KVA generator set, which effortlessly runs a full air conditioning system to ensure a completely climate-controlled interior environment for the crew. Comprehensive maritime situational awareness and precise sub-surface tracking are managed from the bridge via an integrated digital navigation pack featuring a 16-inch multi-function display (MFD). This advanced command suite incorporates a VHF DSC radio, AIS-B++ transponder, a 4 kW radar, an autopilot, a 1 kW sonar, and a unifying NMEA2000 backbone. As with all models in the KND commercial series, these preliminary technical parameters remain subject to change, allowing final configurations and optional extras to be tailored to a client’s specific list of operational requirements.
