The SeaViper 11 Survey Vessel by KND is a specialized commercial research and hydrographic survey platform engineered with an aluminium semi-displacement hull and a matching aluminium wheelhouse superstructure. Built for stable, precise data collection in coastal waters, harbors, and estuaries, this compact vessel measures 11.0 meters in length overall with a 3.69-meter beam and an exceptionally shallow 0.34-meter draft. Operating under the Grey Boat Code classification framework with Bureau Veritas (BV) and HPi CE proof validation, the craft manages a maximum full-load displacement of 6.35 tons. The boat features an enclosed forward cabin layout optimized to support a 5-person crew complement on a 1-day operational endurance baseline. To sustain daily research operations, the hull houses essential liquid capacities, including 125 liters of fresh water and 35 liters of waste water storage.

To balance precision low-speed tracking with reliable transit speeds, the platform offers two recommended powertrain and propulsion configurations drawing from a 572-liter fuel capacity:

  • Option A (Shaft & Propeller): This traditional arrangement utilizes a single engine delivering 300 hp of installed power ( hp). It drives the vessel to a maximum and cruising speed of 14.7 knots, burning 36 liters of fuel per hour to secure a 210-nautical-mile operational range at an estimated displacement of 5.47 tons.

  • Option B (Jet Drive): Recommended for enhanced shallow-water agility, this configuration scales up to a dual-engine arrangement providing a combined 600 hp of installed power ( hp). It maintains the same 14.7-knot maximum and cruise speeds at a full-load displacement of 6.35 tons, with a fuel burn rate of 35.8 liters per hour.

The ship’s dedicated surveying equipment, onboard electronics, and domestic amenities run on a dual 230 VAC and 24 VDC electrical power supply network. This grid is heavily backed by a recommended 6,500 Ah house battery bank and a robust 10.1 kW / 12.7 KVA generator set, which powers an approximate 25,250 BTU/h air conditioning system to keep the sensitive technical workspace and survey gear perfectly climate-controlled.

The command bridge features a basic navigation pack centered on a 12-inch multi-function display (MFD) integrated with a VHF DSC radio, AIS-B transponder, an autopilot, a 600 W sonar, and a radar system with an 18- or 24-inch dome. Onboard safety and regulatory compliance are rounded out by compulsory equipment, including an all-round white light, sidelights, a magnetic compass, a sound signaling device, emergency flares, and a VHF radio. For specialized scientific deployments, KND lists an auxiliary crane and winch under its optional extras.
