P626 | WASTE WARRIOR 27

The Waste Warrior 27 Pollution Control Vessel by KND is a large-scale environmental utility ship engineered for intensive debris recovery, oil spill response, and harbor cleanup operations. Constructed with a marine-grade aluminium displacement hull and a fully enclosed aluminium wheelhouse, the vessel measures 27.0 meters in length overall with a 6.76-meter beam and a shallow 0.36-meter draft. Operating under CE classification with Bureau Veritas and HPi CE proof validation, the platform handles a maximum full-load displacement of 41.05 tons. Similar to its smaller counterparts, its open deck configuration features a forward jaw-like collection ramp assembly and an integrated hydraulic crane to efficiently harvest floating plastics and debris directly from the water’s surface into a spacious central hold.

For robust positioning and reliable transit power, the craft utilizes a high-efficiency IPS Drive arrangement powered by twin 300 hp engines to deliver a combined 600 hp of installed power. This recommended powertrain configuration drives the vessel to a maximum and cruising speed of 12.5 knots. Running at its cruising velocity, the propulsion system has a fuel burn rate of 72 liters per hour, yielding an operational range of 100 nautical miles from its integrated 640-liter fuel tank. Built to support a 4-passenger complement on a single-day endurance baseline, the hull accommodates supplementary liquid logistics including 100 liters of fresh water and 28 liters of waste water storage.

The ship’s extensive onboard electronics, machinery, and living quarters run on a dual 230 VAC and 24 VDC electrical power supply. This network is supported by a massive recommended 18,210 Ah house battery bank and a heavy-duty 28.4 kW / 35.5 KVA generator set, which comfortably runs a powerful 72,520 BTU/h air conditioning system. The raised bridge features an advanced basic navigation pack centered on a 16-inch multi-function display (MFD), fully integrated with a VHF DSC radio, AIS-B++, a 4 kW radar, an autopilot, a 1 kW sonar, and a unifying NMEA2000 backbone. Compulsory safety gear and tactical navigation instruments complete the setup, including a masthead light, stern light, sidelights, a magnetic compass, a sound signaling device, emergency flares, navigation charts, a dedicated GPS/chartplotter, AIS, radar, and a depth sounder.
