P215 | SHADOWHAWK 14 SURFACE

The Shadowhawk 14 S Patrol & Intercept Vessel by KND is an ultra-high-speed, specialized tactical platform engineered with an aluminium planing hull and a minimalist open console superstructure. Purpose-built for high-velocity pursuit, clandestine operations, and rapid troop insertion, this aggressive monohull measures 13.3 meters in length overall with a slender 3.22-meter beam and a 0.64-meter draft. Certified under the Grey Boat Code and Bureau Veritas (BV) classification standards with HPi CE proof validation, the platform handles a maximum full-load displacement of 9.62 tons.

The deck configuration is explicitly optimized to support a 12-person troop and crew complement on a single-day endurance basis. Its open deck plan features an array of specialized shock-mitigation seating layout arrays—including dual rows of forward-facing bench seats in the bow section, specialized centerline crew seating abaft the steering console, and a clear tactical boarding area. To maximize speed, shed dead weight, and focus strictly on rapid intercept windows, the platform completely omits onboard fresh water and waste water holding tanks ().

To achieve exceptional, intercept-level tactical velocities, the platform utilizes a high-performance Surface Drive propulsion arrangement drawing from an integrated 1,804-liter fuel capacity. The recommended powertrain relies on twin high-output engines delivering a combined 1,780 hp of installed power (noted as ). This surface-piercing drive setup pushes the interceptor to a blistering maximum speed of 68.5 knots and sustains an intense cruising speed of 53.1 knots. Running at this rapid cruise velocity, the system maintains a fuel burn rate of 202.9 liters per hour to secure an impressive operational range of 425 nautical miles at its full 9.62-ton displacement.

The vessel’s tactical electronics grid and onboard service systems run on a dual 230 VAC and 48 VDC electrical power supply network. Reflecting its lean operational mission profile, the electrical system is supported by a compact, recommended 250 Ah house battery bank and explicitly omits an auxiliary generator set (genset) and air conditioning system.

The open command console is equipped with a high-reliability basic navigation pack centered on a 12-inch multi-function display (MFD). This bridge core integrates a VHF DSC radio, AIS-B transponder, an autopilot system, a 600 W sonar, and a radar system fitted with an 18- or 24-inch dome. Standard legally mandated maritime safety and navigation equipment completes the console build, including a masthead light, stern light, sidelights, a magnetic compass, a sound signaling device, a VHF radio, emergency flares, and navigation charts. In accordance with KND’s standard technical documentation, these preliminary parameters represent concept-level estimates that remain subject to change during final design development and detailed engineering modifications.
